Apr ‘10 loan growth sustained. According to BNM’s statistics, Apr ’10 loans growth stood at +10% yoy (Mar ’10: +9.8% yoy). Similar with the previous month, this growth was led by the household segment, where the yoy growth rate accelerated further to +12.2% (Mar ’10: +11.7% yoy). As for the business segment (Apr ‘10: +4% yoy vs. Mar ’10: +4.3% yoy), disbursements were broad-based but used mainly to fund working capital requirements. The SMEs sub-segment saw a slight pick-up in loans outstanding of +4.6% yoy (Mar ’10: +3.1% yoy)
