Mandarin Version - Market Technical Reading : Consolidation Likely To Continue For The Rest Of The Week…-08/09/2010

Local Market Leads:
♦ In the absence of strong buying interest ahead of the Hari Raya celebration late this week, the local bourse traded cautiously and ended almost flat on Tuesday.
♦ Overall trading sentiment appeared lethargic, with sporadic buying interest only seen on selective lower liners, namely TimeCom (+1sen), TGOFFS (+9sen) and P&O (+10sen).
♦ At the close, the FBM KLCI eased another 0.41 pt or 0.03% to settle at 1,434.27.
♦ Elsewhere in Asia, regional peers were mixed after investors digested the latest US economic stimulus plan on infrastructure. US futures markets and early European markets, however, succumbed to strong selling pressure.
♦ Sensex outperformed the rest of the regional markets by surging another 0.46%. But Nikkei 225 tumbled 0.81% after the recent sharp rally.
♦ Locally, the daily turnover eased further to 642m shares, compared to 744m shares a day earlier. Market breadth was mixed with 354 counters down and 336 counters up.
